JOB TITLE: CARGO SUPERVISOR
This post is based in Equatorial Guinea, offshore on the serpentina FPSO on a 28/28 rotation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role supports the Cargo Supervisor by maintaining vessel stability, implementing changes to vessel heading, and ensuring compliance with safety and assurance systems, contributing to the installation’s safety and performance goals.
Ensure vessel position and heading are maintained, implementing changes to the heading as necessary.
Oversee the safe and effective operation of marine and deck activities, prioritising health, safety, and environmental protection.
Manage cargo storage, export, ballast control, and power management systems while ensuring compliance with asset assurance and verification requirements.
Support the Cargo Superintendent in maintaining vessel stability during loading and offloading operations.
Supervise, coach, and guide direct reports professionally.
Implement and enforce safe systems of work for operational and maintenance tasks, ensuring adequate supervision of contractors and vendors.
Contribute to major accident hazard management, particularly in preventing, detecting, and mitigating accidents.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other departments and shifts to optimise asset goals.
Assist in emergency situations as specified in station bills or by the Offshore Installation Manager.
Ensure readiness of safety systems, including evacuation, helicopter, and lifesaving appliances.
Recommend changes to improve equipment, assurance routines, and cost management.
Ensure comprehensive handovers that adhere to company procedures and provide all necessary information.
The Cargo Supervisor is accountable for recommending changes to equipment and assurance routines that enhance cost management, efficiency, and productivity within the installation's operating budget.
The Cargo Supervisor addresses technical and operational challenges by effectively managing risks, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and making decisions that ensure safe, compliant, and efficient marine operations.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
STCW Reg II/2 (Chief Mate) certification.
Minimum years of FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) experience.
Oil Tanker Endorsement.
Experience with Dynamic Positioning (DP) or TAMS systems, along with advanced DP training.
Strong knowledge of marine systems, technical standards, processes, and relevant legislation.
Experience with maintenance scheduling, organising, coordinating, and monitoring work.
Proficiency in managing "Safe Systems of Work" (PTW) procedures.
Effective vendor management experience.
Strong supervisory and communication skills, with the ability to present technical issues clearly.
Ability to establish positive relationships with peers and stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Effective risk management capabilities.
