JOB TITLE: Deck Crew Crane Operator
Fixed term contract for 6 months - FPF1 on a 2/3 rota
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform all deck crew duties, with crane operations as primary function , as directed by Deck Foreman / Marine Supervisor in accordance with the Company Operation Procedures.
· Assist in the movement of deck equipment.
· Assist in co-ordination of PSV operations.
· Assist in the loading and offloading of marine and air freight.
· Perform rigging & slinging operations. Create lifting plans. Participate in RA & TBT’s.
· Assist in planning / execution of lifting / slinging operations.
· Ensure the safe and efficient operation of deck services in an environment in which statutory
· operational, safety and environmental policies are fully implemented.
· Care, and routine maintenance of platform cranes and associated certification. Completion of Crane logs / reports.
· Complete relevant deck planned maintenance tasks as directed by Deck Foreman.
· General housekeeping duties.
· Preparation & painting of structure as and when required.
· Fully understand and comply with the requirements of the installation Safety Case.
· Adopting safe-working practices at all times and, where appropriate, in accordance with the company’s Operating Procedures.
· Ensures that the work conditions and environment are maintained in a safe and healthy condition.
· Acts responsibly and takes all necessary precautions to protect himself, fellow workers and ay other persons who may be affected by his activities from injury and preventable illness.
· Ensures that any defects in working practices, machinery, tools, equipment, protective measures and protective clothing are immediately brought to the attention of management so that steps can be instigated to remedy the defect or take the equipment out of service until repaired or made safe.
· Stage 3 Crane Operator
· HLO
· Banksman Slinging and basic rigging
· Permit to Work
· Combined Heli-team certificate fire fighting
· Helicopter refueling.
· Perform in an emergency role as defined by the Company’s Emergency Response Procedures Manual and Installation Bill.
· To be familiar with and have an understanding of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
· Ability to deploy engineering & operational standards/ procedures that meet both regulatory and safety standards.
· Ability to identify, investigate, audit and control technical change (within limit of discipline
· knowledge)
· Ability to undertake work to meet acceptance criteria with respect to safety, technical integrity, cost and schedule
· Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
· Requirement to raise any non conformance to supervisor in timely fashion
· Ability to co-ordinate with project/ planning engineers to plan, monitor and control project activities.
· Input into project/ asset plans in timely fashion
· Requirement to monitor and control all works within budget and schedule.
· Ability to provide guidance and motivation to co-workers
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Stage 3 Crane Operator & HLO Would be an Advantage
· Minimum years practical rigging experience, preferably in offshore environment.
· Qualified to level 2 / 3 rigging.
