General skills for Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Commissioning Engineer

·       Excellent and proven HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) packages and systems. Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Operation experience (minimum 10 years).

·       Skilled in effectively handling industrial type HVAC packages and systems typically composed of: Air Handling Unit (AHU), Chiller and Compressor Units, distribution ducts and Air dampers, fans, and multi-split devices.

·       Excellent communication and interface skills.

·       Good leadership and teamworking skills.

·       Able to supervise and coordinate technical staff and third parties.

·       Able to work well under pressure and deal with unexpected situations.

·       Willing to work on a shift basis and beyond normal working time.

·       Good IT and analytical skills. Able to write technical reports and compile documents related to HVAC activities.

·       Able to produce and implement detailed HVAC testing procedures and Method Statements such as but not limited to Air Balancing, Integration with Building Management and F&G Systems.

·       Able to gather and analyze data for troubleshooting activities and performance assessment within the equipment and its interfaces.

·       Able to investigate and fix issues by him/herself and/or implement solutions provided by Vendor.

·       Able to ensure safe working conditions, familiar with PTW and LOTO systems.

·       Familiar with Turnover Management Systems: ITRs, check sheets, ITP etc.

Technical Key skills for HVAC Commissioning Engineer

·       The selected Engineer shall have deep knowledge (and preferably having a Vendor specialist background) and sound skills with widely used industrial HVAC packages and systems such as but not limited to:

o   York

o   Mitsubishi Electric

o   Carrier

·       Able to perform installation conformity checks as per technical drawings and design specifications prior to Pre-Commissioning.

·       Able to perform Pre-Commissioning activities for the assigned scope of work.

·       Able to execute Commissioning tasks for the assigned HVAC systems.

·       Able to carry on Performance testing activities.

·       Able to change/update any configuration on the PLC/HMI of the HVAC systems in conjunction or with the remote support of the relevant Vendor.

·       Able to perform troubleshooting in case of any issue during Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Initial Operation phases.

·       Able to carry out Preventive Maintenance activities, including routine checks, and Maintenance interventions during Operation stage.

Interfaces

Responsible for the assigned Pre-commissioning/Commissioning works; coordinates between Discipline engineers and supervisors, sub-contractors, Client, and Third Parties; acts as focal point for its discipline and scope of work.
