Job Description – Junior Project Engineer (Electrical)

Level: Junior Project Engineer
Reporting To: Project/Delivery Manager
Role Purpose
The Junior Project Engineer – Electrical will be based at site and support the Project/Delivery team in coordinating electrical vendor activities, inspections, testing, and Client interfaces.
The role will provide hands-on site coordination while developing a sound understanding of the project's electrical equipment and systems, including electrical packages associated with major rotating equipment and other critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate electrical vendor/OEM representative visits to site.
- Coordinate vendor mobilization, site access, permits, work areas, and required facilities.
- Liaise with Client electrical representatives to arrange inspections, witness activities, testing, and technical coordination meetings.
- Support vendor representatives during inspections, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and other site activities.
- Develop a basic understanding of electrical systems and equipment relevant to the project.
- Follow up on vendor technical queries, inspection findings, punch-list items, and outstanding actions.
- Coordinate with Electrical Engineering, Construction, Quality, HSE, Planning, Procurement, and other disciplines to ensure vendor activities are properly supported.
- Monitor the readiness of equipment and systems for planned vendor activities and inspections.
- Maintain a schedule and tracker for vendor visits, inspections, testing activities, and outstanding actions.
- Participate in site walkdowns and support identification and closure of electrical-related issues.
- Maintain proper records of inspections, vendor reports, action lists, and technical correspondence.
- Provide regular progress updates to the Project/Delivery Manager.
- Identify potential schedule constraints or technical issues and escalate them promptly.
- Ensure vendor activities comply with project specifications, approved procedures, quality requirements, and HSE standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably within EPC, oil & gas, or industrial projects.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, equipment, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Site experience is preferred.
- Exposure to OEM/vendor coordination would be an advantage.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
