JOB TITLE: FACILITIES ENGINEER (TECHNICAL AUTHORITY)

 

This is a rotational role, 28/28 rotation.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Acting as a focal point for distinct scopes of work along with assisting with the coordination of wider engineering and construction activities relating to GEPZafiro’s Serpentina and Jade assets. Responsibilities include the implementation of Class-related repairs on Serpentina; and individual modification or improvement scopes on Jade and Serpentina covering the full lifecycle of engineering, procurement and construction.

  • As part of these responsibilities, the role involves collaboration with the wider engineering, construction and maintenance departments as well as offshore operations, engineering contractors, equipment vendors, and the Classification Society (ABS) and the Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA).

  • The role also communicates the status of engineering and construction scopes to stakeholders, ensures scopes of work are correctly planned and prioritised, that knowledge is transferred to GEPZafiro, and that queries and change requests are expedited.

  • The role facilitates safe and compliant production operations on the Jade and Serpentina installations by assisting in the coordination of engineering, integrity and construction activities, while also drawing on relevant industry experience to help support GEPZafiro’s engineering function.

Engineering & Integrity

  • Development and management of scopes of work to resolve operational risks and insufficiencies, collaborating with GEPZafiro engineering, engineering contractors and equipment and service vendors.

  • Development of plans and work instructions for the implementation of scopes of work.

  • Coordination of construction activities to maintain Class and Flag compliance, such as ‘Conditions of Class’ and Statutory deficiencies; and construction activities relating to discrete scopes of work, such as integrity actions.

  • Engagement with Class and Flag to update progress, arrange surveyor attendance, deferrals and closure of actions, including ‘Conditions of Class’.

  • Assistance with the selection and management of specialist vendors.

  • Focal point for queries between the engineering, integrity, operations, maintenance and construction teams.

  • Development and coordination of Project Initiation Documents and the Engineering Scope Review process.

  • Supporting day-to-day operational troubleshooting.

  • Input into the Change Request process, ensuring identification, agreement and documentation of engineering changes.

Stakeholder Interface

  • Providing a point of contact for queries from out with the GEPZafiro engineering team.

  • Transferring knowledge and mentoring GEPZafiro personnel.

  • Reporting on scopes of work and Statutory and Class compliance.

Planning, Procurement & Cost Control

  • Population of the asset plan with scope activities and POB.

  • Development of specifications and Scopes of Work to support procurement activities.

  • Review of vendor proposals.

  • Coordination of purchase order placement.

  • Monitor project costs and support cost control measures, ensuring alignment with budgets.

  • Tracking and reporting of progress against plans and milestones.

Construction & Operations Support

  • Provide guidance to the offshore construction teams on engineering and compliance priorities, issuing scope of work and support requests as required.

  • Assist in the estimating of scope and collection and reporting of construction progress.

  • Day-to-day Support.

Risk & Opportunity Management

  • Identify risks and opportunities across engineering and operational areas.

  • Propose and track mitigation measures to manage risks effectively.

  • Actively seek opportunities for efficiency improvement.
