JOB TITLE: Facility Engineering Manager
This role is based in Houston
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to CB&I ‘Lifesaving Rules’.
· ‘Live’ CB&I core values and behaviours and apply them in day-to-day work.
· Developing / maintaining customer relationships, including helping to pursue new customers / opportunities, and ensuring high service levels to existing customers.
· Ensure technical integrity in engineering packages delivered to customers.
· Manage the engineering team, including leadership and recruitment of relevant discipline leads, and scope specific leadership to ensure designs meet customer requirements. Will be accountable for the overall engineering & design team competence and productivity through discipline leads.
· Develop estimates and proposals against customer requirements.
· Manage / resolve conflicts between technical integrity and delivery, and prioritization between projects / clients as appropriate.
· Management of engineering related NCRs, PINs & Technical Queries raised against the scope.
· Accountable for identification of scope change and communicating with customer for review and approval.
· Responsible for the identification of continuous improvement of the engineering process and the implementation of engineering related improvement initiatives (e.g. new technologies or improved design processes). This will include ensuring lessons learned from previous projects are incorporated.
· Maintain an awareness of relevant current technology, changes to Standards and Codes of Practice and changes to legislation as it affects offshore and onshore work. Ensure Engineers are made aware of these new developments.

· FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
· No specific financial budget responsibility, however responsible for ensuring engineering estimates are accurate and ensuring engineering team performance is within project budget and schedule
· Multi-discipline Co-ordination:
· Must be able manage multi-discipline engineering & design team to ensure one cohesive design that meets customer expectations, relevant design codes and standards, and adheres to CB&I processes and procedures.
· Resource Management:
· Identifying and forecasting required resource levels to enable engineering delivery to the plan. Must be able to accurately interpret and evaluate planning information such schedules, man hour summary reports and histograms
· Drive Engineering Team Delivery:
· Must be able to evaluate productivity of engineering and design disciplines. Must be able to implement changes and motivate team members to ensure engineering delivery to plan
· Interfaces:
· Must manage interfaces between multiple stakeholders to provide complete solution to customers, including interface with customer focal points, engineering team, procurement, and construction across a variety of contracting models, up to and including full EPC.
· Technical Integrity:
· Will ensure engineering and design teams follow correct company and client processes and procedures to maintain quality of engineering output. Will act as arbiter when delivery requirements conflict with company processes, procedures or legislative regulations and international standards.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Engineering Degree qualification in relevant discipline for Oil & Gas industry facility design
· Licensed Professional Engineering in relevant discipline heavily preferred
· Necessary certification for travel offshore preferred
· Significant experience in the engineering industry (15+ years), of which some must have been within the Oil & Gas Sector in a supervisory position, such as a Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager
· Experience of managing a multidiscipline engineering team within a design office environment
· Experience in the development and application of the necessary process to assure technical integrity
· Must have significant experience in small to medium sized CAPEX project engineering & design
· Skills & Competencies:
· Conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards
· Capable of representing CB&I to customers in a professional manner
· Able to keep discipline and resolve conflict
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (at a minimum)
· Motivated to deliver
· Demonstrates cross-cultural awareness and an ability to build effective working relationships across our global business
· Excellent communication skills – capable of communicating effectively with customers, direct and in-direct reports, team members, senior management
