Offshore Field Civil / Structural Engineer (Construction of HVDC platforms)
Responsibilities:
- Undertakes designated tasks and areas of work based on the size and complexity of the project, as outlined by the Lead Engineer or Project Field Engineering Manager.
- Capable of supervising and verifying yard construction activities as assigned by the Lead Engineer or Project Field Engineering Manager
- Reviews design and shop drawings to ensure construction adheres to the specifications of the design drawings for Offshore Topside and Jacket.
- Addresses site queries through collaboration with the engineering team.
- Resolving urgent query based on experience/quick calculation check.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering. Master’s degree and Chartered status are preferred.
- A minimum of 10 - 15 years of experience as an engineering interface for major EPC projects related to the construction of offshore jackets and topsides.
- Good understanding of stressed skin and stiffened plate fabrication techniques based on DNV standards and European codes. Preferably with topsides construction experience based on stressed skin design (stiffened panel type constructions).
- Experience in reviewing construction method statements and a comprehensive knowledge of various construction equipment, cranes, lifting, and loadout methods for panel and jacket components.
- Proficient understanding of jacket and topside structural design, material specifications, inspection categories,
- Knowledge and experience of HSES (Health, Safety, Environment, and Security) standards.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience in the construction of offshore HVDC substation jackets and topsides.
- Experience in large-scale projects, with the ability to effectively communicate and transmit lessons learned.
- Experience on both the employer and contractor sides.
- Strong knowledge of HAZID (Hazard Identification) and HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) processes.
Other Requirements:
- Strong background in construction engineering, installation engineering, and offshore operations.
- Proven problem-solving abilities in yard operations and effective communication skills.
- Good proficiency in structural software (Sesam, STAAD, SACS), AutoCAD, and MS Office.
- High proficiency in English is a must; good proficiency in Bahasa Melayu is preferred.
