JOB TITLE: GRADUATE HSEIA ENGINEER

 

This post is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE – contract position.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate HSEIA Engineer to join our team and develop a career in Health, Safety, and Environmental Impact Assessment (HSEIA) within the oil and gas industry. This position is designed for engineering or science graduates who are passionate about HSE, sustainability, and technical safety in the energy sector.

  • The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior HSE professionals to support the development, review, and implementation of ADNOC’s HSEIA processes and Technical Safety Standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project HSE management, risk assessment, and compliance activities across various oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi.

  • HSEIA Support: Assist in the preparation, coordination, and documentation of HSEIA reports and studies, ensuring alignment with ADNOC standards and UAE regulatory requirements.

  • Technical Safety Assistance: Support senior engineers in conducting safety studies and workshops such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and QRA under supervision.

  • HSE Data & Reporting: Collect, organize, and analyze HSE data for reporting and risk tracking across different project phases.

  • Compliance & Audits: Participate in internal audits, inspections, and assurance activities to ensure compliance with ADNOC’s Code of Practice (COPs) and international standards (ISO 45001/14001).

  • Project Support: Assist in the preparation of Project HSE Plans, Method Statements, and Safety Procedures for drilling, construction, and commissioning activities.

  • Learning & Development: Engage in structured on-the-job training, mentoring, and HSE workshops to build technical and professional competencies.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional project teams to promote a strong safety culture and proactive risk management practices.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience in (internships or industrial training in oil and gas, HSE, or risk management are advantageous).

  • Basic understanding of HSE principles, risk management, and environmental protection.

  • Familiarity with ADNOC standards or international HSE frameworks is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a technical safety and environmental management role.

  • Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.

  • Commitment to upholding health, safety, and environmental excellence.

  • Excellent fluency in English (written and spoken).
