JOB TITLE: HR MANAGER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for ensuring the day-to-day HR functions are performed in accordance with Petrofac policies and procedures and HR best practice
- This role is primarily to support the Energy Transition Projects Division of Petrofac with project requirements in the Netherlands and Germany as well as other country level activity as required by Petrofac.
- Provide direct advice and guidance to the ETP management team and employees in relation to activity in the Netherlands and Germany. Provide HR competencies and support to the project management team in attracting, coaching, developing, retaining, and engaging talent.
- The role is standalone at present which may grow in the future.
- In collaboration with the wider HR function and project management team, assist in the development of staffing and recruitment plans to ensure that each team is resourced appropriately, according to need and funding availability, in an efficient and timely manner.
- Provide country specific input when designing and/or revising HR policies and guidelines, including legal and Work Council requirements.
- Ensure that all new hires in the Netherlands and Germany have undergone orientation and induction, including any internal employees mobilised there from other Petrofac offices and/or projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local laws and regulations and adherence to Petrofac governance and policies.
- Ensure the timely processing of new contracts, contract extensions, employee transfers, promotions, and other change of status/personnel changes.
- Respond to employee-related queries and provide answers to all HR-related inquiries and requests.
- Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning employee-related data.
- Conduct training needs analysis and support employees in the identification of suitable internal/external training, in close consultation with the in-country management team.
- Participate in external professional forums relating to Human Resources and feed back to the in-country management team and wider HR community on best practices and HR trends in-country.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Fluent spoken and written English and Dutch is required. Fluent spoken and written German would be an advantage.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field.
- Broad and up to date experience and knowledge of HR processes and practices across the full employee lifecycle as well as employment legislation and cooperation with works councils in the Netherlands.
- Ability to demonstrate a passion and skill for drawing actionable insights from raw information and data
- Proven and effective negotiation and influencing skills, and coaching skills
- Commercial awareness to support the business in making key decisions and understanding the implications of this.
- An ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, and able to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to be discreet when dealing with confidential information.
- Have a keen eye for detail whilst being results-oriented and able to stay calm under pressure and in uncertainty, inspiring the same in their team.
- Able to form strong connections with others, earning their trust, and hence being able to influence even the highest level of management in the business.
- Proactive approach to HR as a value-add function.
- Strong communication skills with a customer focused mindset.
- Experience of HR Business Partnering with senior leaders is required. Working within the engineering and/or energy industry would be a strong advantage.,
- International experience or having previously worked in a multinational organisation is required.
- Proven ability to work with a team that is internationally dispersed and culturally diverse.
