JOB TITLE: INSTRUMENT ENGINEER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working across Petrofac’s portfolio of operated and duty held assets, the role is accountable for providing centralised assistance to the day to day instrument maintenance support functions.
- Areas for support will include but are not limited to offshore process control, electronics, instrumentation, metering and software systems, all whilst maintaining compliance with the relevant company and legislative standards and procedures.
- The role will also include development and control of specific OPEX and CAPEX budgeted activities which are directed to the hub team, where optimisation of the maintainability, reliability and availability of the relevant instrument and controls systems is key in achieving high levels of asset integrity and production attainment.
- Direct input and management of assigned activities and vendors including prioritisation, planning and execution in collaboration with the respective asset team.
- Onshore point of contact for the management of small bore tubing across the portfolio and for the prioritisation, planning and execution of planned and corrective maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with the asset Verification Scheme and management of Remedial Action Recommendations and actions arising from incidents.
- The ability to fulfil an asset specific role as per business requirements will also be a function of this role.
- Provide day to day technical support as required across the portfolio with fault diagnosis and remedial action plans for instrumentation and control equipment and systems.
- Ensures robust plans are in place for assigned stand-alone activity sets.
- Co-ordinates with asset specific engineers and offshore O&M personnel the planned and corrective maintenance of plant instruments, control systems and equipment.
- Ensure by audit that all documentation relevant to the function are maintained in accordance with operational procedures, safety principles and legal requirements.
- Monitor the performance of plant instruments, control systems (including software) and equipment providing recommendations to address reliability issues.
- Manage SBT registers, plans and resources across the portfolio.
- Review and implement planned maintenance programme to meet statutory and OEM requirements.
- Routine audit of the CMMS to ensure maintenance history is of a suitable quality and accuracy of PM/PMA periodicity and estimates.
- Is familiar with the appropriate statutory legislation, operations safety case, asset verification scheme, and safety management systems in support of the function.
- Development and management of OPEX and CAPEX budgeted activities and projects.
- Contribution to and development of all direct and indirect activities across the entire planning system from 28 day to CoP.
- To work and support across the operational disciplines and Technical Authorities to ensure team integration.
- Complete regular offshore visits to directly support offshore operations.
- Drive an active role in Cyber Security.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Educated to HNC/HND or equivalent standard.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic when working as part of a team or on own initiative.
- Relevant onshore and offshore experience.
- Instrument & control support function experience required.
