JOB TITLE: IT Lead - Infrastructure
Role Purpose
The Infrastructure Lead is accountable for the successful design, delivery and transition of the Petrofac Emirates infrastructure, network and IT operations landscape as part of the Emirates Carve-Out Programme.
The role will provide leadership across the infrastructure workstream, ensuring that all solutions are aligned with the approved Emirates architecture, High Level Design (HLD), security standards and programme guiding principles. The individual will work closely with business, technical, security, application, procurement and managed service partners to ensure the infrastructure platform is delivered within agreed timelines, supports Day 1 operational readiness and enables a successful TSA exit.
Key Accountabilities
Infrastructure Strategy & Architecture
· Own the infrastructure workstream across network, cloud, operational tooling and managed services for the new Petrofac Emirates.
· Ensure all infrastructure decisions align with the approved Emirates HLD, target architecture and programme guiding principles.
· Act as the primary infrastructure technical authority within the programme, reviewing designs and challenging deviations from architecture standards.
· Ensure infrastructure solutions remain scalable, secure, supportable and aligned to the future Petrofac Emirates operating model.
· Support design governance and architecture review forums.
Delivery & Implementation
· Lead the delivery of the Emirates infrastructure platform, including cloud infrastructure, networking, connectivity, identity dependencies, monitoring, backup, recovery and operational tooling.
· Ensure all infrastructure activities are delivered in accordance with programme plans, milestones and TSA exit timelines.
· Coordinate internal teams, vendors and managed service providers to achieve successful implementation outcomes.
· Oversee infrastructure testing, service validation, operational readiness and transition into support.
· Proactively identify risks, issues and dependencies that may impact programme delivery.
Cross-Workstream Integration
· Act as the primary infrastructure representative across all Emirates programme workstreams.
· Collaborate closely with Application, ERP, Security, Identity, Data, Procurement and Business Readiness leads to ensure all technical dependencies are understood, managed and delivered.
· Ensure infrastructure services are provisioned in line with application migration schedules and business cutover plans.
· Support integrated planning, sequencing and dependency management across the wider programme.
Operational Stability & Risk Management
· Ensure carve-out activities do not negatively impact existing Petrofac operational services, users or critical business processes.
· Challenge delivery approaches that introduce unnecessary transition risk or future operational cost burdens.
· Ensure robust operational readiness, support processes and service management controls are established prior to go-live.
· Ensure robust compliance with Information and Cybersecurity standards and directives
Commercial & Vendor Management
· Work closely with Procurement and Commercial teams to support infrastructure-related vendor selection, contracting and mobilisation activities.
· Manage infrastructure delivery partners and suppliers against agreed scope, timelines and quality expectations.
· Review technical proposals and commercial options to ensure alignment with programme objectives and architecture standards.
· Monitor vendor performance, deliverables and issue resolution throughout the lifecycle of the programme.
Governance & Reporting
· Input to RAID Logs and status updates to the Programme Director and Steering Committee.
· Escalate key risks, decisions and dependencies in a timely manner.
· Support executive reporting and governance forums as required.
Experience & Qualifications
· 10+ years' experience leading enterprise infrastructure, network or cloud transformation programmes.
· Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure initiatives.
· Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, IT operations, service management and managed service operating models.
· Experience managing system integrators, outsourcing providers and technology partners.
· Strong stakeholder management skills across technical, business and executive audiences.
· Demonstrated experience managing delivery across multiple interdependent workstreams.
· Experience within engineering, construction, EPC, energy or industrial sectors.
· Desirable
· Formal programme or project management qualifications (PMP, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent).
· Critical Success Measures
· Infrastructure delivery achieved in line with programme milestones and TSA exit dates.
· Full compliance with Emirates HLD and architecture standards.
· Successful Day 1 operational readiness and business continuity.
· No material disruption to RemainingCo services or operations.
· Effective management of cross-workstream dependencies.
· Infrastructure platform transitioned successfully into steady-state operations.
