Job Title: Lead Planning Engineer
Location: South Yoloten Turkmenistan
Project: Turkmen Gas Galkynysh Gas Plant Operations and Maintenance Services
Reporting to: Senior Operations and Maintenance Manager
Responsibilities:
Project Scheduling: Under the direction of the Senior Operations and Maintenance Manager, develop and maintain comprehensive plans and schedules using MS Project. Ensuring all tasks are clearly defined, sequenced, and resourced.
Coordination: Work closely with the client and project management team, engineers, procurement and CMMS team to gather necessary information and ensure alignment of maintenance activities.
Progress Monitoring:
· Track progress against schedules, identify any deviations, and analyze the impact on the overall timeline.
· Propose and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays.
Reporting:
· Prepare reports, including Gantt charts, S-curves, and activity summaries, for Petrofac and client stakeholder reports.
· Schedule regular meetings with the client team to discuss activities, addressing any issues, and gaining alignment on upcoming work.
Risk Management: Responsible for maintaining and updating the Project Risk Register
Compliance: Ensure all planning activities adhere to Petrofac standards, industry codes, international standards and safety legislation. Maintain up-to-date documentation and records.
Communication: Facilitate effective communication between the project team and stakeholders, including the client, OEMs and sub-contractors. Ensure all parties are informed of status and any changes.
Resource Allocation: Assist in the allocation of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimal utilization and efficiency.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in maintenance planning and execution. Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.
Mandatory Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a lead role, planning and scheduling within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on gas plant operations and maintenance activities. (PM / CM, Pit-stops, Shut-down)
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project and other project planning software.
· Good working knowledge of CMMS software, preferably Maximo.
· Good understanding of maintenance planning methodologies and best practices.
Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Russian and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
Interpersonal Skills:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team environment.
· Aware of, and respects the client’s organizational culture and working environment. This includes understanding cultural nuances, communication styles, and workplace etiquette.
· Fosters strong working relationships with client team members through regular interactions and collaborative efforts.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry Knowledge: Sound experience in gas plant operations and maintenance.
Certifications: Certification in project planning/ management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
Software Proficiency:
· Familiarity with other planning tools and CMMS software, such as Primavera P6, Oracle, SAP, is a plus.
· Experience of building reporting dashboards within MS Excel.
· Power-BI experience is a distinct advantage
