JOB TITLE: LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER
This is to be based in Great Yarmouth
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac’s ‘Eight Golden Rules’.
‘Live’ Petrofac core values and apply them in day-to-day work.
Provide Process Engineering technical support to, and implementing instructions from, the Project Manager & Project Engineering Manager.
Take ownership and approval of responses to Process technical queries to ensure resolution to the satisfaction of the Project Manager & Project Engineering Manager.
To lead, supervise and provide direction and support for all Process Engineering personnel within the assigned project team.
Undertake and be accountable for work scopes ranging from initial selection studies and field development studies through concept to detailed design, commissioning and operational support.
Specification and design of all upstream oilfield equipment including but not limited to:
Separation, Compression, Dehydration and Effluent clean up
Water injection, Chemical injection and Safety systems
Flare and utility systems
Other associated equipment and systems within the Oil and Gas industry.
Ensure the Process Engineering support provided satisfies the appropriate Asset Safety Case and that the Prevention of Fire and Explosion, Emergency Response (PFEER) performance standards are not compromised by any Process engineering activities.
Review of job progress and cost reports regarding Process engineering activities
Liaise with other disciplines in the execution of the work.
Liaise with client as required.
Ensure that all Process design changes are captured by the change control process.
Contribute to the development of the plans, schedules and estimates for the individual workscopes.
Ensure that all Process engineering work is carried out in accordance with Asset priorities and schedules as set out in the integrated plan.
Supervise discipline team members to ensure the technical quality of work produced by the discipline personnel meets company and customer requirements.
Responsibility for the motivation of team members to identify cost effective designs and seek solutions.
Responsible for specific change and improvement initiatives
Must comply with Company engineering procedures and industry, international and client codes and standards, and assurance that team members comply with the procedures.
Identify increase or reduction in scope, raising the necessary support documents for Project Control Purposes
Preparation of engineering scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary.
Responsible as a key member of any project team for achieving the project target and completion of the project within the budget and schedule
Produce documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks, and or, design books on time to meet offshore deadlines.
Ensure that all Process work complies with Contract/BMS and Petrofac health, safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures; project specific SHE and quality plans; and agreed interfacing requirements with sub-contractors as appropriate.
Incorporation of management strategy as advised by the Process Technical Authority or Project Engineering Manager
Liaise with Project Engineering Manager and Process Technical Authority regarding resource requirements of assigned project team.
Assist Process Technical Authority in undertaking competency assessments on discipline team members.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
A Process or Chemical Engineering Degree (BEng/BSc minimum)
IChemE Chartered status preferred
Necessary certification for travel offshore preferred.
Must be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards.
Must be willing to travel offshore/site
Capable of representing Petrofac OPO and Client to business associates in a professional manner
Team player
Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications and relevant discipline specific software

Ability to motivate and supervise other discipline personnel

Experience within the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry is essential
Relevant experience should be in the development of a sound knowledge of Process engineering principles and their application to engineering projects from conceptual to detailed engineering stages.
A skilled engineer in offshore oil & gas related projects
Brownfield project experience essential
