JOB TITLE: Lease Operator 

Job Overview

A Lease Operator, often referred to as a pumper, is responsible for monitoring and optimizing the production of oil and gas wells. This critical role involves ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and inspection of equipment and facilities. Lease Operators work closely with other professionals to maximize production efficiency while adhering to safety and environmental standards. They play a crucial part in the daily operations of the oil and gas industry, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of production activities.

Lease Operator Responsibilities & Duties

·       Monitor daily production rates and ensure optimal performance of wells

·       Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment and facilities

·       Record and report production data accurately

·       Perform minor repairs and troubleshoot operational issues

·       Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations

·       Coordinate with other team members to optimize production processes

·       Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas

·       Assist in the setup and dismantling of equipment

·       Respond to emergencies and equipment malfunctions

·       Analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities

Lease Operator Qualifications and Skills

·       Previous experience in the oil and gas industry

·       Familiarity with production equipment and processes

·       Strong problem-solving skills

·       Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

·       Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

·       Proficiency in using industry-specific software and tools

·       Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations

·       Mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge

·       Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

·       Willingness to work in varying weather conditions

·       High school diploma or equivalent

·       Valid driver's license

·       Commitment to safety and environmental standards

·       Basic understanding of mechanical and operational principles

·       Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy equipment

·       Strong analytical and data recording skills

·       Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies

·       Good communication skills and responsiveness timing

·       Flexibility to work irregular hours and on-call shifts

·       Basic computer literacy and ability to use electronic devices

Daily Job Tasks

·       Analyze surface and subsurface production equipment performance

·       Perform routine maintenance on production equipment

·       Validate production data between various software programs: Cygnet, iVolume, Ignition, Total flow/HMI screens

·       Check entire facility for leaks

·       Check wellheads and flowlines for leaks

·       Identify safety hazards

·       Ensure chemical injection systems are functioning properly

·       Adjust parameters on producing wells

·       Remove trash and debris from the wellsite

Other Duties

·       Shoot fluid levels with Echometer fluid level computer system

·       H2S testing

·       Inspect chokes and rebuild as needed

·       Maintain all personal equipment and tools, including vehicle

·       Replacing and repairing backpressure regulators and dumps

·       Emissions testing

·       Remove trash and debris from the wellsite

·       Assist electricians with troubleshooting and repairs

·       Chemical treatments on producing wells
