JOB TITLE: Materials & Logistics Focal Point

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Support the leadership on all safety, security, health, environmental and quality matters related to aviation, marine logistics and warehousing activities.
  • Efficient and effective control of all materials to suit project and/or operational requirements.
  • Co-ordination of third-party inspection requirements (e.g. rental plant and equipment) and HMRC customs regulation compliance
  • Ongoing development and implementation of aviation and marine logistics strategy to support Client assets.
  • Management of safe helicopter and marine operations and Support the management of third-party aviation & marine logistics service providers.
  • Provide leadership and support to aviation and marine logistics team and associated third party service providers.
  • Liaise with regulatory organisations such as HCA and Oil & Gas UK.
  • Ensure costs are managed, forecasted and controlled within budgets and that any changes are controlled and approved prior to implementation.
  • Develop and implement strategies for performance improvement and cost reduction.

  • Provide support and assistance to other members of the team as required.
  • Implement appropriate plans, processes, procedures, and warehouse space allocation.
  • Control and manage offshore/site call offs/short order requisitions, plant and equipment hire, etc.
  • Attend and participate in morning calls and any other project meetings.
  • Manage the delivery of external logistics companies to provide a cost-effective aviation and marine, & warehousing.
  • Warehousing – Management of services to ensure cost effective level of support.
  • Allocation of vessels and development of sailing schedule and vessel routing
  • Arrangement of vessel charters, supply vessel, ERRV, AHV and ROV                                
  • Budget accountability (Marine, Aviation, & Warehousing) for GP3 of circa £20M
  • Contract holder for 3rd party logistics service provider
  • Optimal Cost and delivery solution to be resolved on a weekly basis for the below challenges
  • Marine Support (Spot Hires, W2W, Route Planning / scheduling materials optimisation to ensure right materials at the right time offshore
  • Aviation Support (Adhoc Demand, Cost Management, Route Planning / scheduling materials optimisation to ensure right materials at the right time offshore
  • Warehouse Management (optimise fluctuating demand of resources and materials to ensure best fit delivery for all assets)

Essential Qualifications and skills

  • Materials & Logistics Focal Point
  • Good knowledge of warehousing and offshore legislations, e.g. COSHH / Hazardous, Dangerous Goods, etc.
  • Experience of offshore logistics operations, particularly work execution and planning, in the Operations/Duty Holder environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Inventory Management Systems;
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook;
  • Experience in similar material / logistics roles within the Oil and Gas industry;
  • Experience of using Inventory Management and Equipment Tacking systems                 
  • Strong communicator who works effectively as part of a team;
  • Proactive and collaborative approach, able to use own initiative;
  • Highly organised & detail orientated individual;
  • Must be flexible in approach to work, conscientious in the control of documentation and possess the ability to change priorities as and when the business needs dictate.
  • Expected to adhere to the Golden Rules of Safety (transitioning to ‘The 9 Lifesaving Rules in 2020) and the Petrofac Values.
