JOB TITLE: OFFSHORE INSPECTION ENGINEER
This post is based in Ghana on a 24 months fixed term contract.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complies with the Tullow HSEQ Code of Conduct, Standards, and Procedures to always protect people and the environment.
Has a duty of care to ensure that all personnel work in a manner that is not harmful to their own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
Provides guidance and technical support to Junior Engineers
Ensure compliance with all statutory and corporate standards, processes and procedures.
Manage the offshore planning, coordination, execution and supervision of asset integrity inspections and remedial work.
Be the offshore focal point for inspection and fabric maintenance activities.
Provide oversight on the execution of safety critical inspections executed on the Facilities.
Lead and co-ordinate high quality integrity management activities for the facilities
Assure that the integrity management system for the Facilities is enacted offshore.
Provide support and guidance to the offshore inspection and fabric maintenance personnel when required and support for onshore personnel during offshore visits
Provide specialist support on top sides pressure systems and marine
Inspection activities ensuring industry standards and best practice are applied appropriately.
Liaises with all departments and stakeholders offshore to ensure the
Inspection Plan is embedded in the schedule.
Responsible for the offshore planning, coordination, execution and supervision of asset integrity inspections and remedial work.
Planning — provide input to work pack/instructions and ensure the Onshore
Integrity Team are aware of the necessary resources required for all planned work and given estimates of required resources when necessary.
Coordination — act as a point of contact and liaison between offshore operations, Inspection Teams, FM Team and Onshore integrity.
Execution — ensure all inspection reports are fully reviewed for accuracy and clarity and track progress of inspections against plan. Carry out when required visual inspection of pressure equipment and structural items and ensure prompt notification to Asset Integrity Engineer of any significant integrity concerns resulting from inspections.
Identify opportunities for improvement and be responsible for implementation following agreement with Asset Integrity Engineer.
Provide Asset Integrity Engineer with regular reports, both verbal and written, with analysis and comment on performance and results.
To manage the Facilities offshore inspection and fabric maintenance programs to ensure timely execution of work in line with plans and budgets provided by the onshore team
Update the Anomaly and Temporary Repair registers and Inspection database.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
BSc./ B. Tech in Engineering Sciences
Minimum years or more in relevant field
Ability to utilize interpersonal skills in resolving issues
Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative
Good Interpersonal skills
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Good time management
Ability to organize workload in order to meet deadlines
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work as a team member and liaise
effectively with staff at all levels
Effective problem solving and analytical skills
Awareness of project commercial and cost control issues
Ability to liaise with internal teams, offshore personnel and Client effectively.
Capable of working on own initiative and with minimal supervision
Expert knowledge and understanding of the applicable legislative, national
And international inspection standards for offshore Oil & Gas Facilities
Overseas and African experience beneficial
Physical aptitude to work in an offshore environment
Experienced in Vessel, Pipework and Structural inspection, preferably on an FPSO.
Qualified as API510 and API570 Pressure Systems Inspector
API579 Fitness for Service Assessments and API580 Risk Based Inspection is preferred
In depth knowledge of core NDT Techniques essential, knowledge of advanced techniques preferred.
