JOB TITLE: PERFORMANCE COACH

Responsible for the generation of permits for the completion of construction activities on site in line with safety requirements of the project and under the general procedure of the “SSOW” - Safe system of work.

Key Accountabilities

  • Attend daily meetings on the list of activities that need to be carried out by the discipline engineers.
  • Discuss the scope of each activity that needs to be carried out including the safety requirements.
  • Carry out the assessment of risk for the activities that need to be completed and classify them as either level 1 or level 2.
  • Generate reports and formats required for permit and forward to the construction manager for his approval of the permits such as Hot work permit, Hot work naked flame, cold work etc.
  • Appraise the client on the activity being undertaken depending on the stage of the project.
  • Ensure that every activity is carried out as per client’s procedures post award of permit.
  • Coordinate with the representatives if installation work is being carried out for adherence to client’s procedures.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure qualified employees are carrying it out as well as well as the adherence of quality procedures.
  • Recall the permit if the above is not followed.
  • Revalidate permits, which are of long-term duration and reschedule work if required.
  • Coordinate with the areas in charges for work being carried out in their respective area.
  • Carry out any other duties as required by the supervisor.
  • Responsible for ensuring that permits are issued and monitored in line with the client’s requirements.
  • Actions are monitored by immediate supervisor, may stop activities if they are not as per permit procedures.

The post holder is expected to adhere to the Golden Rules of Safety (transitioning to ‘The 9 Lifesaving Rules in 2020) and the Petrofac Values.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Minimum 10 years of offshore oil & gas supervisory experience.
  • Graduate degree in Engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Proactive approach with ability to plan effectively
  • Knowledge of safety procedures
