Position Title: Principal Engineer- Commissioning (Instrumentation)

Scope of Responsibilities

Lead a team of commissioning engineers in carrying out Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning & Start-up activities. Provide necessary technical information for the other disciplines during the project. Coordinate the work within the budgeted man hour and project schedule.

Primary Duties

1.            Identify requirements and scope of work, review specifications, drawings and other documents of the project and establish applicability to the scope of work.

2.            Carry out a detailed assessment of the commissioning work involved and assess the available resources and possible constraints in its execution.

3.            Ability to review contractual documents and identify project requirements and constraints / risks.

4.            Provide necessary inputs to commissioning proposals at the bidding stage.

5.            Inspect and ensure all construction activities are completed prior to taking up the system for commissioning and ensure the setting up of safety procedures for the same.

6.            Ensure that all safety and precautionary requirements and procedures are followed during the commissioning.

7.            Responsible to discussed and get the approval of Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Operations procedures from clients.

8.            Ability to lead subcontractor for the safe execution of Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning activities in line with the schedule.

9.            Manages risk as assigned by commissioning manager, project management and/or site management by reviewing risk on a regular basis.

10.       Hold regular review of risk assessment/meeting with the client on issues such as HSE.

11.       Be aware of cost monitoring, control expenses, and report overruns to management.

12.       Be continually present on the field to guarantee the quality and progress of the work.

13.       Lead commissioning & start-up multi-disciplinary team building project execution.

14.       Clear punch list items as necessary after checking at site.

15.       Regularly contact discipline engineers and supervisors for solving problems related to project execution work safely.

16.       Regularly communication with Sub-contractor execution team.

17.       Liaise & Coordinate with commissioning engineers and provide them support and guidelines for technical commissioning related issues.

18.       Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the Supervisor.

Instruments:

1.            Able to guide technical issue to several engineers and supervisors under his responsibility.

2.            Direct the daily activities related to instrument SAT/ Loop testing and functional testing.

3.            Provide technical support and problem resolving on different control and safety system: DCS/ ESD, HIPPS, AMS, OPC communication, Interact with QA/QC to ensure compliance with company quality procedures. Coordinate internal and client audit request

4.            Able to analyze technical issues and resolve to initiate an appropriate corrective action and report the same to the direct line management.

5.            Responsible to interface with client as required, attend internal project meetings, ensure the progress of instrument commissioning discipline in accordance to schedule.

6.            Support to completion and hand over team to validate correct data population on the instrument commissioning activities.
