JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER – HSE
This role is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE – residential status for 12 months.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· We are seeking a highly skilled HSEIA Specialist with maximum years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in ADNOC’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Impact Assessment (HSEIA) processes.
· The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in unconventional drilling, technical safety, and compliance with ADNOC’s Code of Practice (COPs). This role demands expertise in leading HSE advisory services, risk management, and technical audits across major projects, with a focus on Abu Dhabi’s energy sector. Candidates demonstrate a deep knowledge of ADNOC Technical Safety Standards and GCC project execution.
· HSEIA Development & Approval: Provide facilitation and technical expertise for the development and approval of HSEIA for unconventional drilling, ensuring alignment with ADNOC standards and regulatory requirements.
· HSE Advisory Services: Deliver expert HSE guidance on drilling, fracking, well testing, pipeline gathering/export line construction, commissioning, and tie-in operations, mitigating risks across project phases.
· Corporate HSE Strategy: Develop and implement corporate HSE strategies, initiatives, and compliance frameworks aligned with Technical Safety Standards for full field development projects.
· Technical Safety Deliverables: Ensure timely completion of all Technical Safety-Formal Safety Assessments, including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, IPF, QRA, and HSE Rig Case scoping for FEED packages, meeting budget, quality, and regulatory standards.
· Risk Reporting: Provide quarterly risk updates to shareholders on company-wide HSE risks during new drilling locations, project risk management, and overall HSE direction.
· Team Leadership: Lead and manage teams conducting Technical HSE Studies and Audits, fostering a zero-incident safety culture across assets.
· Compliance & Assurance: Spearhead risk management, HSE compliance, and assurance efforts in line with COPs, ensuring operational and technical integrity through process safety audits and studies.
· Project Quality & HSE Plans: Develop and enforce Project HSE Plans, setting standards for oil and gas projects to meet ADNOC and international benchmarks (e.g., ISO 45001/14001).
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Maximum years of experience in oil and gas HSE, with at least few years in ADNOC-related projects focusing on HSEIA and unconventional drilling.
· Expertise in drilling, fracking, well testing, pipeline construction, and commissioning, with strong knowledge of ADNOC Technical Safety Standards and COPs.
· Proven ability to lead HAZID/HAZOP/SIL/IPF/QRA/HSE Case studies and deliver Formal Safety Assessments.
· Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience mentoring teams and reporting to senior management.
· Excellent fluency in English.
