JOB TITLE: Principal Engineer – HSE Design (offshore)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for developing HSE design basis, philosophies, study reports (FERA, CFD, EERA, QRA, RAM, Thermal Plume), equipment specifications, P&ID, layouts, datasheets, hazardous area schedules, fire & gas detector layouts, firewater hydraulics, fire water pump sizing, deluge/spray system design, and procurement of gas suppression systems for Offshore wind Energy platform.
· Organize and actively participate in workshops including HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, FMECA, RAM, SIL, Bow-Tie, SCE PS, and ALARP.
· Support the Engineering team by providing advance information into German and Dutch regulatory requirements.
· Provide guidance on spacing, fire ratings, blast requirements, stack/vent height etc.
· Develop inquiry requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and purchase requisitions for specialist studies, as well as safety and fire-fighting equipment.
· Coordinate with clients, regulatory authorities, consultants conducting specialized studies, third-party certifying agencies, consortium partners, subcontractors, other discipline engineers, and the project team.
· Prepare and track the project schedule to ensure design activities are completed within allocated manhours and timelines.
· Organize and participate in FAT, SAT, HAT, and offshore commissioning of fire protection and safety systems.
· Assist with field queries during fabrication and commissioning, providing justification notes and calculations.
· Review and approve vendor drawings, ensuring the timely delivery of required documents.
· Contribute to cross-functional and inter-office meetings by providing design input to the Engineering team.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering with over 12 years of technical safety and loss prevention experience in offshore projects, with Engineering Companies or Safety Consultants.
· In-depth knowledge of DNV and VdS standards and requirements.
· Proficient in German and Dutch offshore regulations.
· Practical experience in handling offshore platform projects.
· Familiarity with offshore safety equipment such as lifeboats, life rafts, etc.
· Strong presentation, training, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
