Principal Piping Engineer Contractor

Petrofac is seeking a Piping Engineer 2- Contractor for 6 months based in Aberdeen, UK.

The role is outside IR35 and we invite Limited Companies to engage.

The scope of services will be reviewed should there be a significant change to client support requirements.

Scope of Services:

Services to be supported during the duration of the contract are detailed below. A requirement to undertake additional services shall be mutually agreed by way of contract amendment:

·       Ensure compliance of all piping work executed with company, industry and international engineering procedures, codes and standards

·       Keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements

·       Ensure the production of cost-effective designs that are fit for purpose and do not compromise safety or quality 

·       Liaise with Procurement, QA/QC Inspection, Document Control in delivery of all piping materials and design deliverables.

·       Ensure that all piping work complies with project and Petrofac health, safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures

·       Ensure that any project change/organic growth is closely managed in line with company/client Management of Change procedure

·       Provide piping engineering technical support to and implement instructions from the Project Manager.

·       Provide piping technical expertise in the development of engineering design deliverables & calculations. 

·       Provide technical expertise during the development Initiation, FEED, Detail, Implementation Execution phases.

·       Respond and assist in piping technical queries to ensure resolution to the satisfaction of the Technical Authority.

·       Participation in Hazop, Hazid and design reviews ensuring the piping engineering support provided satisfies the appropriate Asset Safety Case and that the Prevention of Fire and Explosion, Emergency Response (PFEER).

·       Liaise with other disciplines in the execution of the work and perform Interdisciplinary approval & checking of documents where applicable.

·       Attendance at project / vendor kick-off meetings 

·       Provide input to progress and planning meetings

·       Identification of increase or reduction in scope, raising the necessary support documents for Project Control Purposes

·       Review of job progress and cost reports regarding piping engineering activities.

·       Ensure that all piping engineering work is carried out in accordance with asset priorities and schedules as set out in the integrated plan

·       Provide Engineering Input to Estimates for project and vendor work scopes 

·       Approval of below listed engineering deliverables

·       Responsible as a member of the project team for achieving the project target and completion of the project within the budget and schedule 

Deliverables:

Services should be provided to produce the following deliverables where required as part of project specific works, specific clients and durations will be called off as part of the purchase order. 

Key deliverables to include but not limited to:

·       Piping Schedules (Including Bill of Materials)

·       Piping Specifications & Data sheets

·       Technical Bid Evaluations

·       PED /PER Technical files & associated documentation

·       Piping Requisitions (Including SDRL)

·       Preparation of engineering specifications 

·       Piping Calculations

·       Bolt Torque Matrix Sheets

·       Weight Control Reports

·       FEED Reports / PEP’s

·       Piping Survey SoW

·       Work Pack Input

·       Preparation of Piping Cost-Time Resource (CTR) Document 

Services should be provided to check the following design deliverables where required as part of project specific works. Key deliverables to include but not limited to:

·       Materials Requisitions 

·       Piping Bill of materials 

·       Piping Data sheets (SP’s / Valve / Material etc)

·       Piping Schedules & Registers (Valves / Pipe support / TP’s)

·       Piping Specifications

·       Piping Calculations

·       PED assessment, technical files and associated documentation.

·       Construct & Destruct Isometrics

·       Piping General arrangements

·       Piping Details (Pipe supports / Penetrations etc.)

·       Piping Layouts / 3D Models

·       Weight Control Reports

·       Bolt Torque Matrix Sheets

·       Piping Reports (Surveys / Vendor visits etc)

·       Inter-discipline Checks (IDC)

·       Piping section of project work packs
