JOB TITLE: PROJECT EXECUTION MANAGER SUBSEA
The Project Execution Manager leads and oversees the successful delivery of subsea projects from planning through execution. He/She reports to the Project Director and operates from the Aberdeen Hub. Key accountability is to drive performance across engineering, procurement and offshore installation phases of subsea projects in West Africa, whilst ensuring compliance with HSE standards and contractual obligations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the execution of Transportation & Installation (T&I) and EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning) contracts.
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Serve as the primary liaison between clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
Oversee resource allocation and performance across engineering, procurement, and operations.
Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and team performance.
Prepare and present project status reports to internal and external audiences.
Support business development efforts and contribute to winning new work scopes.
Oversee and review deliverables from engineering contractors to ensure quality and fitness-for-purpose.

Financial accountability of the Project Execution Manager focuses on controlling, validating, and optimizing costs during the execution phase
Budget holder for Opex (manpower of the project management team). His/her responsibilities include but not limited to:
Validate contractor invoices
Authorise variation orders
Control contingency drawdowns
Ability to dissect problems methodically and arrive at a solution using logic, cost-benefit analysis and risk modelling
Confidence in making clear decision under pressure, owning the outcome of the decisions and communicating them clearly to stakeholders
High systems-thinking capability to understand interdependencies of subsea systems, operational sequencing (SIMOPS) and have a balance view of technical, financial and safety dimensions in every proposed solution
Proven experience in resolving problems that may arise such as:
Technical: pipeline installation delays due to seabed irregularities; umbilical or riser system failures during deployment; ROV malfunction during critical tie-in operations
Logistics: custom clearance delays for imported subsea equipment
Financial: contractor claims for scope creep or standby time; variation orders due to design changes in subsea architecture
Safety: dropped object incident during subsea lifting operations; permit-to-work violations during high-risk activities
Establish new processes and procedures for effective project execution delivery
Important role as a Leader of Teams to demonstrate collaborative mindset, readiness to resolve conflicts within the team, motivate the team especially during extended campaigns.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Degree in Marine, Offshore, Structural or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in subsea, offshore, or marine infrastructure project delivery in oil & gas or energy sectors.
Familiarity with T&I and EPIC contract structures.
Familiarity with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) methodologies and tools. (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Excel, PowerPoint/ Think-Cell).
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
Experience working in international or regional markets (e.g., West Africa) is advantageous.
Familiarity with international Oil & Gas design codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO, EI, BSI, etc.).
Valid offshore medical and survival certifications (advantageous).
Proven leadership and strategic thinker skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, able to resolve complex issues under pressure.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence in a matrix environment.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment.
Commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence
Significant experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with substantial exposure to both operations support and project delivery.
Track record of successfully delivering brownfield and greenfield projects.
Experience working with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), and quality assurance frameworks.
Experience working in international or remote locations and adapting to diverse cultural environments.
