JOB TITLE: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Timely and accurate reporting of monthly management and legal results in line with reporting deadlines.

·         Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring the projects module and subledgers reconcile to the general ledger monthly.

·         Preparation and posting of all necessary journals to correctly categorise results and amend any reconciliation issues.

·         Preparation, reporting and reconciliations of sales and cost accruals.

·         Perform reconciliations between financial and management reporting systems.

·         Preparation of supplementary interim and year end IFRS disclosures in line with reporting deadlines.

·         Reconciliation of payroll information and entry into the general ledger, ensuring appropriate allocation across projects.

·         Review accounts to ensure accurate tax treatment of all financial transactions and provide necessary information to tax advisors for tax filings.

·         Supporting with intercompany balances, reconciling, and matching with group counterparties.

·         Provide financial support and advice to local and in-country projects and finance teams to ensure compliance with local filings and local content requirements.

·         Monthly reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts, with any misallocations reviewed and cleared before the next reporting period.

·         Assist with internal and external audits providing support and documentation as necessary.

·         Ad hoc requests as required by the supervisor.

·         Seek efficiencies within the reporting process, identifying areas causing issues, determining root causes and working with the necessary teams to resolve.

·         Support the implementation of system improvements.

·         Support business improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

·         Part or recently qualified accountant preferred (ACAS, ACCA or CIMA), or

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or other relevant discipline.

·         Good technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills.

·         Must be able to work to tight deadlines with high levels of accuracy.

·         Ability to manage multiple priorities.

·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate problems from differing viewpoints and recognize potential root cause of problems to suggest possible solutions.

·         Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate with multiple team members.

·         Advanced Excel skills are required for interpretation of large volumes of data (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s).

·         Excellent time management skills.

·         Extensive experience in a finance role.

·         Previous experience in large, International Oil & Gas service company required.

·         Oracle experience is essential, with knowledge of FCCS, Hyperion, or other group reporting solutions being preferred.
