JOB TITLE: SENIOR MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
24 months fixed term contract based in Ghana
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Mechanical Technician is responsible for carrying out maintenance of the Facility’s.
process plant, associated equipment and vessel utilities with minimal environmental impact following statutory, class and flag regulations together with the Safety/Facility Management Systems. This is carried out in accordance with legislative requirements, company health, safety, environmental, integrity and other relevant standards and company values
Completing tasks to guarantee the effective and safe operation of every component of the maintenance scopes.
Complete a task-based risk assessment and, if needed, offer mechanical technical assistance.
Using the company's protocols, report any recognized harmful activities or situations right away.
Engage in and contribute to any offshore meetings that the firm has, if necessary.
Respect and adhere to the company's safety policies, which include the permit-to-work system.
Make recommendations and create change requests as needed to enhance the effectiveness of the plant, the equipment, and the safety of operations.
Using the company's protocols, report any recognized harmful activities or situations right away.
Attending and contributing to any offshore meetings hosted by the firm.
Respect all workplace safety policies, particularly those pertaining to the permit-to-work system and life-saving procedures.
Make recommendations and create change requests as needed to increase the effectiveness of the plant and equipment for safety operations.
Take part in and actively promote the development of a ONE TEAM mentality for the offshore crew as well as any employees of outside contractors who will form the core team.
To satisfy the necessary levels of platform integrity, perform First Line Maintenance tasks and conduct safety equipment inspections and testing.
Make sure that all facility maintenance is done in a way that maintains alignment with the business objectives of the firm or customer in terms of safety, environmental discharge, equipment cost, and maintenance cost.
Accountable for the upkeep, repair, and servicing of the motors and compressors on the platform.
Carries out significant mechanical overhauls under little supervision.
Makes certain that mechanical equipment is installed correctly, operates within design parameters, is repaired, and is maintained within a designated area of operations.
Manage field mechanical daily operations in a way that minimizes downtime and expenses while giving the organization the best chance of success in a timely manner.
Acceptance and demonstration of walk-down, pre-handover system tests.
Oversee the daily planning and performance of all mechanical tasks.
Make sure that every item connected to lifting has undergone the necessary testing, certification, and compilation in the lifting register.
To ensure that nothing is lost, inspect, and accept responsibility for any special tools that are provided with goods.
Ascertain that efficient procedures are upheld for the site's identification, evaluation, and management of major environmental hazards.
Stand in for Maintenance Supervisor when required.
Carry out Emergency Response duties in accordance with Client requirements.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
BSc. / B. Tech in Mechanical engineering and or equivalent qualification
Few years of relevant Offshore experience in Mechanical field
Membership of a professional Body is an added advantage.
Previous supervisor experience preferred
Previous experience with Maximo or similar CMMS including referral/rescheduling process and backlog management
Capable of providing direct technical advice, guidance and supervision
Ability to effectively participate in the planning of daily activities
Can manage people issues linked to behaviors and employee relations
Computer literate including use of Microsoft office suite
