Petrofac is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - PAYE contract position for 12 months based in Aberdeen, UK.
JOB TITLE: SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure good communication between disciplines
· Liaise with other Project Engineers, Delivery Team Leader, Engineering Manager, Construction, Commercial and Planning
· Manage project changes effectively
· Ensure an effective risk management process is adopted
· Demonstrate HSE leadership within sphere of influence
· Contribute to the development of the plans, schedules and estimates for the individual workscopes
· Ensure as far as possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
· Prepare estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules
· Participate as necessary in discussions with client and visit jobsites when necessary, including offshore
· Assist the Lead, Principal or Senior Discipline Engineers when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
· Maintain the required technical quality of work produced.
· Ensure that the work output complies with relevant procedures
· Keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the scope of the discipline assigned team members, including assisting in the training and technical development of engineers
· Preparation of engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary

KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· HND / HNC in relevant Engineering discipline
· Knowledgeable and has experience in a project environment in Oil and Gas, Petro Chemical or other relevant industry
· Familiar with project control mechanisms
· Understanding of commercial and technical risk assessments
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
· Able to account for current and new legislation and standards.
· Must be willing to travel offshore/site and capable of completing surveys
· Team player
· Motivated to deliver
· Ability to investigate and interpret data
· Ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances
· Ability to motivate and supervise other discipline personnel
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Demonstrates cross-cultural awareness and an ability to build effective working relationships across our global business

Experience
· Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry will be preferable but not essential
· Suitable experience within other engineering industries will be considered where appropriate.
· Brownfield project experience desirable
