Key responsibilities:
- Take ownership in day-to-day surveillance, reservoir management and development activities.
- Monitor production performance and make recommendations for production optimization. Work closely with operations, offshore personnel, facilities & engineering, drilling & completion, and wells groups in ensuring smooth operations while achieving production targets.
- Identify/evaluate production enhancement opportunities and diagnostics of well behaviours.
- Deliver and monitor reservoir management plan, field-wide surveillance programs and monthly target producing plans. Recommend and justify surveillance needs for wells.
- Hold accountability on production forecasting. Monitor reserves changes and contribute relevant part of subsurface input to the annual business planning activities and quarterly updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertake data analysis and interpretations, including material balance, volumetric estimation, production allocation and forecast, pressure transient analysis, nodal analysis, fluid contacts estimation, reserves evaluation etc.
- Conduct reservoirs/field development studies (i.e. analytical and numerical simulation) to define optimal reservoir depletion strategy: optimize well locations and count, well utilities, pressure maintenance vs. gas cap blowdown, gas injection etc.
- Integrate data from G&G, completions, drilling, and production operations and provide recommendations on subsurface optimization.
- Support appraisal and development planning activities and provide reservoir engineering inputs and/or recommendations in a timely manner.
- Prepare and update Field Development Plan (FDP) documentation for approval as required.
- Deliver the necessary presentations and documentation for both technical assurance reviews and approval process as and when needed.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to junior engineers as required.
Desired Skills and Technical Experience:
- Degree in relevant subsurface discipline (reservoir/petroleum engineering) or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years relevant practical experience with at least 4 years in reservoir management/surveillance.
- Experience in reservoir development especially during drilling operations phase will be a plus.
- Sound cross discipline skills, with an understanding from geoscience through reservoir engineering to petroleum and well engineering.
- A good understanding of upstream processes.
- Good working experience in all aspects of petroleum engineering, field reservoir development and ongoing production management through to abandonment.
- Practical knowledge of well design and associated flow assurance issues (inc. Gas Lift Design, Sand Control, Corrosion, scale, wax etc).
- Experienced in production enhancement justification and operations including: gas lift optimisation, perforations, scale & wax removal, stimulation.
- Experienced in building and maintaining strong relationships with Government, JV partners and Service Providers and managing associated contractual arrangements.
- Clear understanding of hydrocarbon resource estimation and reserves audit procedures.
- Be self-motivated to accomplish world-class results, generally positive in outlook, and able to cope in a dynamic environment.
- Possess, or strive to possess, skills in project and team management, including planning of works, budgeting and control against plan and budget.
- Have a sufficiently broad experience base to be able to exercise independent thought and decision making.
- Good interpersonal skills, including ability to plan and present a coherent story to both direct reports as well as partners and management.
