Senior Technical Delivery Engineer
Petrofac is seeking a Technical Delivery Engineer 3 - Contractor for 12 months based in Aberdeen, UK.
The role is outside IR35 and we invite Limited Companies to engage.
Scope of Services:
Services to be supported during the duration of the contract are detailed below. A requirement to undertake additional services shall be mutually agreed by way of contract amendment:
The Consultant shall provide independent, specialist support services to the Client. All services are to be delivered autonomously by the Consultant, based on the agreed project requirements outlined below. Any requirement to extend or vary the scope of services shall be addressed through a contract amendment, with no expectation of direction or control from the Client beyond the specifications stated.
Project Execution
Independently manage and deliver specified project scopes, applying consultants’ expertise in project management and technical controls. All services will be performed with due consideration for safety, quality, and efficiency, without integration into the client's day-to-day operations.
Consultative Input on Project and Asset Planning
Offer strategic recommendations and technical insights to aid the client’s project and asset plans. Proactively identify potential risks and propose solutions, working autonomously to address project needs.
Liaison with Client’s Technical and Project Teams
Maintain a collaborative, consultative relationship with the client’s technical teams, engineering personnel, and any designated third-party vendors or suppliers, ensuring effective communication and alignment on project milestones.
Deliverables:
Services should be provided to enable production of the following deliverables where required as part of project specific works, specific clients and durations will be called off as part of the purchase order.
Statement of Requirements (SoR)
Develop and deliver a Statement of Requirements for each project phase, outlining specific objectives, scope boundaries, and expected outcomes.
Project Planning and Milestone Identification
Produce detailed project plans, specifying key milestones and timelines for delivery. These plans will be developed and managed independently by [Contractor's Company], ensuring the client’s strategic goals are met.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as an independent entity to engage with relevant stakeholders—including offshore/onshore Production Operations, Technical Authorities, third-party vendors, and other associated parties—ensuring adherence to project milestones and technical standards
Compliance with Management of Change Protocols
Ensure alignment with the client’s Engineering Management of Change (MoC) procedures, as required, while maintaining independent control over operational methods and compliance strategies.
Scope Commissioning, Handover, and Closeout
Manage and oversee all stages of commissioning, handover, and closeout for assigned scopes, operating autonomously to ensure that all legal, safety, and statutory standards are met.
Budget Management
Work within pre-defined budget limits as set out in the contract, ensuring cost-effective service delivery without integrating with the client’s internal budgetary processes.
Progress Reporting
Provide regular, comprehensive project updates to the client’s designated point of contact, focusing on key achievements, milestones, and any identified risks.
