Petrofac is seeking a Subsea Project Planner - Contractor for 4 months based in Aberdeen, UK.

The role is outside IR35 and we invite Limited Companies to engage.

The scope of services will be reviewed should there be a significant change to client support requirements.

Scope of Work:

  • Develop a fully integrated EPCI Level 2/3 schedule covering SURF, SPS interfaces, umbilicals, fabrication, logistics, offshore installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Review all FEED deliverables, engineering maturity, and contractor execution plans to establish accurate activity sequencing and durations.
  • Build logic-driven network schedules with clear critical paths, float analysis, and interdependency mapping between subsea and topsides scopes.
  • Incorporate procurement timelines, long-lead items, vendor data, and anticipated fabrication yard readiness.
  • Align schedule with project’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and provide a structured Cost Time Resource (CTR) integration.
  • Develop offshore campaign planning including vessel spreads, metocean constraints, and installation windows.
  • Prepare schedule risk inputs by identifying key schedule drivers, uncertainties, and bottlenecks for inclusion in the project’s broader schedule risk analysis (SRA).
  • Participate in internal reviews and provide periodic status updates, scenario modelling, and optimisation opportunities.

Experience Requirements

  • 10+ years of planning/scheduling experience in offshore oil & gas, with at least 5 years in subsea EPCI projects (SURF, SPS, umbilicals, installation campaigns).
  • Proven experience developing and managing Level 2–4 schedules for major subsea or offshore brownfield/greenfield developments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, including logic building, resource loading, critical path analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Demonstrated capability in planning offshore installation campaigns, including vessel scheduling, metocean constraints, load‑out sequencing, and marine spread integration.
  • Familiarity with subsea fabrication, testing, and procurement processes, including long-lead items and vendor deliverable sequencing.
  • Experience working at the FEED-to-EPCI transition stage, ensuring alignment between engineering deliverables, procurement timelines, and construction milestones.
  • Ability to integrate schedules across SURF, SPS, and topsides scopes and manage interface-driven dependencies.
  • Prior involvement in Schedule Risk Analyses (SRA), identification of uncertainties, and preparation of probabilistic schedule inputs preferred.
