JOB TITLE: SUPERINTENDENT - CONSTRUCTION (SCAFFOLDING)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Preparation of the project scaffolding plan, manpower, and equipment forecasts. Provide leadership and guidance to site team and subcontractors for safe scaffolding operations

·         Ensure all members of the scaffolding team are adequately trained and competent to perform their tasks (ensures that the correct training is provided for the correct scaffolding system used, and valid certificates must be provided).

·         Overall planning and prioritizing of the scaffolding work, including the allocation of the available manpower and material resources to serve the access requirements of the project most effectively.

·         Ensure that all scaffolding materials are correctly stored, erected, modified, and dismantled in compliance with the standards and project specifications.

·         Review the design of a scaffolding (drawing, calculations, and assembly instructions) from a qualified scaffold design engineer.

·         Ensure that all safety requirements are adhered to including scaffold and harness inspections, Safety Reports, permits etc.as per Petrofac procedures.

·         Oversee toolbox talks and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) with the scaffolders on a daily basis with the support of the site HSE officer.

·         Conduct training of scaffolding personnel, VOC assessments and maintaining such records at site.

·         Confirming there is an effective procedure for reporting defects and incidents and taking any corrective action.

·         Promote safe works practices and environmental protection, ensuring that safety standards are respected.

·         Coordinate with all discipline supervisors the requirements of the scaffold to be done/ dismantled/ modified and give instructions to the team to execute the works accordingly.

·         Implement the permit-to-work system.

·         Always demonstrate strong leadership throughout the project phases.

·         responsible for preparation of the project scaffolding plan, manpower, and equipment forecasts.

·         The postholder is expected to adhere to the Golden Rules of Safety (transitioning to ‘The 9 Lifesaving Rules in 2020) and the Petrofac Values.
 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

·         Scaffolding Superintendent with a minimum years’ experience in oil and gas industry with at least years in a leading position, following best practices and complies with the safety requirements and related standards.

·         Requirement CISRS advanced / CISRS supervision training certification.

·         Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), Middle East, and/or North Africa

·         Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce

·         Good communications skills

·         Familiar with international codes and standards (BS EN 12811-1:2003, TG20:13, SG4:15)

·         Have working knowledge and interpretation skills of scaffolding drawing, calculations, and assembly instructions and provide guidance to subcontractors.
