KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

General:

  • Supervising construction activities and field personnel related to pipeline discipline.
  • Conduct tool box talks
  • Monitoring daily construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications and procedures and with the project objectives for safety, quality, productivity and schedule
  • Monitor daily progress in his area
  • Promotes job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately. Regularly participation in HSE meetings, daily jobsite walks, conducts toolbox talks and keep records.
  • Build right first time in line with QinC initiative and put maximum efforts to get inspection records signed off with no/minimum punch list items.
  • Implement construction work processes, project procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
  • Prepare reports relating to construction progress, job manpower forecasts etc.
  • Alert Construction Manager or Construction Superintendent whenever any aspect of the work does not comply with the contract requirements or is being performed outside of the contract scope.
  • Attend subcontract/cost awareness sessions and understand the Responsibility matrices, BOQ & preambles of subcontract.
  • Provide solutions to subcontractor’s problems in order to achieve the successful execution of the project. Verify that the material handed over to the Subcontractor is controlled, preserved and issued for the intended purpose.
  • Serves as a coach and mentor for less experienced staff
  • Input site construction feedback in Construction Observation Form
  • Closely monitor additional work of Site Instruction until work is completed and to inform Subcontracts team for closure of Site Instruction.

Discipline Specific:

 

PTW

  • Arrangement of Work Permits
  • Attend PTW meeting every day for next day planned jobs (SIMOPS)

 

Route survey

  • Verification of centre line and route alignment
  • Scanning of Underground utilities (UG Cable and UG Pipes)
  • Marking of crossings

 

ROW Grading

  • Ensure the Grading activities are done as per the pipe profile required as per alignment sheet to accommodate the cold bends.
  • Make sure no extra lands are used while grading the ROW, to avoid extra claims.

 

Stringing of Pipes

  • Ensure Only approved roads are used to bring pie trucks to ROW
  • Verification of higher wall thick pipes are strung at required location as per alignment sheet.

 

Cold Bending

  • Check the required bend angles are achieved as per the Alignment sheet without Dents, ovalities.

 

Mainline Welding, Tie-ins, Golden Joints

  • Ensure all welding are done as per approved WPS.

 

Trenching/Pre-padding

  • Ensure required depth of trenches are achieved and pre-padding done as per specifications/ Alignment sheets.

Field Joint Coating

  • Field Joint coating of welded joints are done with approved shrink sleeves and as per approved procedures.
  • Ensure only NDT cleared and released for coating joints are coated.
  • Ensure no Holiday defects are on the coated pipe sections prior to lowering.
  • Coating repairs if any, shall be identified during Holiday and test and ensure coating repair done as per approved procedure.
  • Ensure CP cable connection points are repaired with approved materials

Pipe Lowering

  • Evaluation / distribution of load of pipe section for each side booms.
  • Ensure pipe sections are lowered within the flexibility allowance.
  • Ensure Pipe books are approved by QAQC.
  • Ensure side boom operators are competent to lower the sections

Check the Requirement of anchoring of sections, if required

Post Padding, Backfilling & Reinstatement

  • Ensure TCP/PCP connections are done as per CP design and approved CP schedule
  • Ensure post padding and backfilling are done as per approved procedure and materials

 

Cleaning, Gauging, Hydrostatic Testing, Dewatering and Drying

  • Ensure all testing equipment are inspected and certified by 3rd party.
  • Ensure test sections are cleaned and gauged as per approved procedure.

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of pipeline site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors
  • Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:
  • Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), Middle East, and/or North Africa
  • Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce
