JOB TITLE: Surveyor I
1. Scope of Responsibilities
Works as a part of a team of surveyors in the survey of the earth's surface to determine precise location and
measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction.
2. Primary Duties
Study the construction plan and the project plan and identify areas to be surveyed.
Take accountability for the area assigned by the lead
Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain.
Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data in order to determine positions, shapes, and
elevations of geomorphic and topographic features.
Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe,
certify, and assume liability for work performed.
Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to
surveys.
Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or
land features.
Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
Adjust surveying instruments in order to maintain their accuracy.
Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned
with projects.
Develop criteria for survey methods and procedures.
Develop criteria for the design and modification of survey instruments.
Coordinate with the Quality Inspectors for certification requirements.
Carry out other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Ensure compliance with Company Code of Conduct, local laws and regulations.
