Position Title:  Technician I - Commissioning - Instrumentation

Scope of Responsibilities

Conduct installation, preservation/maintenance, pre-commissioning, commissioning and testing of one or more systems as per work assignment.

Primary Duties

·         Assist in the installation, connection and tuning of a variety of equipment as per job assignment at various locations as required by clients.

·         Maintain a record of all tools and test equipment utilized and ensures their availability by accurate checks and ensure their accuracy by periodically sending them to Lab for calibration as recommended by the manufacturer and client.

  • Be continually present on the field to execute the work.
  • Ensure compliance to HSSE policies/practices and Zero incidents, LTIs.
  • Ensure availability of proper instrument/equipment before starting the job.
  • Assist in conducting Commissioning-related testing activities at site.
  • Ensures correct tool packages are available along with detailed comprehensive commissioning procedures for individual jobs.
  • Ability to monitor tools and responsible for tools given to him.
  • Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the Supervisor
  • Ability to calibrate and maintain different instrument devices using latest testing equipment for level, pressure, flow transmitter, fire and gas detectors, analyzers sensors, pneumatic and motorized valves etc…
  • Ability to read instrument loop diagram, P&ID, interconnecting wiring diagram.
  • Ability to trouble shoot any kind of instrument and provide technical assistance to supervisors to ensure safe operability of the instrument
  • Proficient in hydraulic and pneumatic installation.
  • Find and remedies fault on field instrument
  • Ability to assist in executing SAT/ Loop / functional test.
  •  Ability to work on control system  such as advance process control (APC) , distributed control system (DCS), Programmable   logic controllers (PLC’s), Emergency Shut Down system (ESD).
  • Familiar with control strategy and control theory (PI/PID/Cascade/Split range control/ alarm managements/ etc…)
  • Ensures correct tool packages are available along with detailed comprehensive commission procedures for individual job.
  • Ensure instrument testing procedure is strictly followed by sub-contractor and record test results.
  • Ensure that all commission activities are completed in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner
