POSITION TITLE: Manager-Training
Responsible for overseeing a team of instructors/assessors and managing the training programs for health and safety, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and operational aspects within gas facilities. This role requires a deep understanding of gas facility operations, a commitment to safety, and the ability to lead a team of instructors & assessors in delivering comprehensive competency training programs to meet the client expectations.
Primary Duties
• Manage a team of instructors specializing in health and safety, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and operations.
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the training team to ensure effective delivery of training programs.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and update training materials for health and safety, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and operational training programs.
• Ensure that training materials align with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Oversee the implementation of training programs to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
• Conduct periodic reviews of training sessions to assess instructor performance and content relevance.
• Conduct regular evaluations of instructors' performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Work closely with facility managers to address specific training requirements and performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations and safety teams to identify training needs and develop targeted programs.
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and performance evaluations.
• Prepare reports on training effectiveness and areas for improvement.
• Setup and maintenance of competency framework and staff/position profiling (CMS)
• Setup and maintenance of training management system (TMS)
• Have a full awareness of the Company Code of Conduct and Business Ethics
• Interact with Quality Assurance for quality issues; strictly ensure compliance with Company’s ISO Quality procedures.
• Interface and regularly meet with client, conduct internal staff meetings, ensure the progress of training project in accordance with schedule.
• Working knowledge of commissioning, operations, and maintenance activities for downstream gas facilities.
• Fully conversant with the technical documentation available from EPC Contractor and OEMs pertaining to discipline equipment
• Report and assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents and provide all necessary assistance to investigating officer.
· Responsible in maintaining Petrofac HSSE Policies, Life Saving Rules & Standards and perform assigned tasks and duties in accordance with instructions, safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
• Vocational diploma or equivalent in relevant field
• Recognised Assessor and IQA (LIQA preferred) qualifications
• Recognised Teaching/Training qualification (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology).
• Minimum 10 years' experience in related field and specialty with experience with International Major Gas Companies and work in the CIS region preferred.
• Minimum of 10+ years previous experience of technical training delivery and assessment management.
• Site work experience in Turkmenistan, is preferred.
• Previous experience of developing, reviewing, and upgrading training materials, developing competency frameworks and criteria
• Experience of working with and setting up of CMS / TMS systems desirable
• OPITO Certified H2S training certificate is preferred.
• Current knowledge of international best practice in the field of operation training.
• Experience and knowledge of working under IOGP lifesaving rules.
• Knowledge and understanding of safe system of work and CMMS work order management process.
• Experience to work in Gas processing facilities and sites operating with acid gas (high H2S content)
• Work experience of operating under GOST standards is preferred.
