JOB TITLE: WELLS MANAGER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Execution & Technical Leadership
Lead safe and efficient planning and delivery of well operations across drilling, completion, testing, and well intervention phases.
Ensure all well delivery activities adhere to Petrofac’s Project Delivery Process, client requirements, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practice.
Oversee operational teams to ensure technically sound, risk-assessed well designs and programmes.
Provide functional leadership across multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, supervisors, and support staff.
Act as the technical authority for well engineering projects, resolving complex technical challenges in real-time.
Review and sign off technical documents including Basis of Design, detailed programmes, time and cost estimates, and end-of-well reports.
Drive continuous improvement, lessons learned, and efficiency initiatives across the Well Engineering function.
Ensure rigorous application of HSEQ standards, process safety, and emergency response readiness in all operational planning.
Regional Collaboration and Strategic Development
Work with regional leadership, delivery, and commercial teams to identify and develop strategic growth areas, including:
Upselling existing services
Exploring partnerships and technology tie-ins
Enhancing decommissioning offerings
Support the Head of Value Creation (HVC) and others in developing the wells and decommissioning value proposition across regions.
Collaborate with other departments to develop multi-disciplinary, integrated service offering
Proposal Development & Technical Contributions
Act as a key technical contributor to Wells and Decommissioning tenders, with responsibility for writing or reviewing high-quality technical responses and project execution plans.
Collaborate with BD and Proposals teams to define project scope, pricing strategy, and risk registers.
Support solution development in early engagement phases, helping shape scope and technical approach to meet client objective
Client Engagement & Commercial Strategy
Serve as the primary regional Wells focal point for existing and prospective clients in MENA, building strong and trusted relationships.
Attend client meetings and site visits to understand needs, ensure satisfaction, and identify upsell opportunities.
Develop value propositions and strategic plans for Wells and Decommissioning services in the region, aligned with Petrofac’s growth ambitions.
Collaborate with Business Development, Commercial, and Project Management teams to pursue new opportunities, including integrated Asset Solutions.
Provide market intelligence and customer insight to shape the Wells business strategy and future service offerings.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (preferred but not mandatory).
Valid IWCF Level 4 certificate or equivalent.
Few years of experience in well engineering, with a mix of operational, project, and client-facing roles.
Prior experience in both onshore and offshore drilling/well operations.
Demonstrable experience in client relationship management, business acquisition, and/or strategy development.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in proposal development, pricing, and negotiation.
Experience with integrated oilfield services or asset lifecycle delivery models is desirable.
Experience working with international and national oil companies (IOCs/NOCs) in the MENA region is a distinct advantage.
Willingness to travel regionally for client meetings and project support.
